  3. If there are more than 1 Record Types within the Object, then which Record Type will need clarifying.
  4. The Field that the Matching Rule is to be written for will be asked.
  5. The Match Type will be need confirming ( Key, Key Deterministic, Fuzzy, Deterministic, Deterministic Strict, Exact or Ignore).
  6. Any Max and Null scores will need entering (dependent upon the Match Type used).
  7. Finally the question will be asked as to whether this Matching Rule applies to Match Only.

Once these steps have been completed, the Matching Rule will be confirmed as being created. This can be validated by checking the MDM Settings, Target Object Rules tab.
